Our Translation Process
Although we offer various translation options based on specific budget and turnaround needs, our clients commonly request a standard translation process consisting of translation, editing, and proofreading (TEP) performed by three different certified linguistic teams. At the end of this 3-step process, a final quality control is performed by the Project Manager before delivery.
Trusted Translations: Quality Assured
Trusted Translations’ translation process is designed to prioritize quality assurance. Three successive quality verification checkpoints will follow the first step of each translation to ensure the highest quality output possible. If artwork or graphics are involved, and if the project requires a mirror of the original materials, an expert desktop publishing (DTP) manager will also oversee the completion of all the design and formatting work necessary.
Translation Process Task Management
Trusted Translations’ high-volume translation strategy is built upon an integral task management approach. Our tried and tested system facilitates communication and collaboration across all of our translation teams to make sure you receive consistent, high-quality output.
Each project is assigned a senior project manager, who supervises the following:
-
Selection of Translator Teams
The linguist teams assigned are determined based on experience and specialty. All of our translators are native speakers in the target language. For highly technical content, we rely on subject-matter experts to ensure the correct use of industry terms. We work in close collaboration with client representatives to ensure that the translation is completed in accordance with the client’s preferred terminology.
-
Terminology Management
Depending on the project’s specificities, a comprehensive glossary of terms specific to the client’s project is created in collaboration with the client upon request. This process is managed by a terminology/content manager whose sole function is to receive, interpret, convert, and implement terms via a dynamic glossary that is distributed to our linguist teams. This process provides consistency throughout the project and is crucial to maintaining a high level of quality on large projects.
-
Quality Verification and Process Checks
Our verification procedures and tools track quality across all documents, allowing us to deliver accurate translations with fast turnaround times. Each document will be reviewed by a translator editor, a proofreader, and a content manager. In addition, these individuals will have access to all of our in-house resources for consultation.
-
Desktop Publishing Management
Assuming that desktop publishing (DTP) is required, a DTP manager will be assigned. They will supervise a design team that is responsible for returning all translated documents in the required design format.
-
Translation Memories
All of our translations are done by human translators, and for projects where post-editing of machine translation has been approved based on MT quality and client agreement, they are still always thoroughly reviewed and revised by our linguists.
Depending on the deadlines involved, we utilize computerized memory tools to save time on high-volume translations that have been proofed by linguists. Our linguists in charge of review and revision thoroughly evaluate every translation. We take language assets very seriously and do not outsource quality to save time.
